Lamont has, quite literally, more years of IT experience than he can remember:

Even if you narrow it down to just software development, you may only get a usable answer if there’s a calculator nearby. Suffice to say he can remember when command.com was not a website, C wasn’t sharp, and Basic was non-visual. He comes to igNew after having spent the better part of the previous decade as a corporate contract developer, and says the experience served to remind him why he much prefers a small business environment.

These days Lamont mostly sticks to ASP.NET Web development, but can also be found dabbling in mono, Java, PHP and Python — usually on one of the 8 virtual machines he has running in the basement of his house. In his spare time he enjoys video games, gardening, and training his canine minions Lira and Kilo to stay off the couch.

In December 2010, Lamont was voted “Most Likely to Work From Home” by the rest of the igNew staff. He still has not come into the office to claim his reward.
